John Marsden

John is a qualified Chartered Accountant who worked in industry and commerce, specifically computer hardware and entertainment, before joining the UK's embryonic venture capital industry in 1980. Starting in a specialist turnaround business aimed at non-performing venture backed companies, he then progressed to active venture investing with Baillie Gifford before joining Innvotec in its infancy in 1990.

Carol van Kempen

Carol has been with Innvotec for fourteen years and is Company Secretary of Innvotec and its subsidiaries. She is also in charge of Administration.

John Whelan

John handles all finances for Innvotec and its clients. He has twenty five years experience of working at board and managerial level for and with SME's in the manufacturing, IT, and plastics industry sectors and for forensics, property and media businesses in the service sector. He has handled numerous fund raising exercises.

Julie Newman

Julie started her venture career with a secondment to Innvotec from British Gas plc twenty years ago. She has subsequently worked with a number of venture houses but always concentrating in the young company, technology sector. Julie is a consultant to Innvotec.

Alan Mawson

Alan is a founder director although now non-executive. A chemist by training with an MBA from the Sloan School, MIT. Prior to founding Innvotec he was a McKinsey consultant and held a number of research director positions in industry. He is a founder director of Clarendon Fund Managers and is currently Chair of the Council at the University of Salford.

Nick Gurney Sharpe

Nick started his career in the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector working for amongst others Kraft and Proctor and Gamble. He joined the venture capital industry over twenty years ago spending much of that with 3i plc. Nick is active in sourcing new venture opportunities especially in the public sector.
