As a consequence, Innvotec no longer invests on the conventional ad-hoc, reactive basis with companies approaching it for funding, preferring to work in partnership with teams that have proven skills in identifying, evaluating and commercialising know-how and intellectual property.
Innvotec helps these teams raise funds that invest solely in opportunities built around such teams' proven entrepreneurial expertise. In this way each investment has a proven and trusted management team at the outset. This approach is effective in reducing the greatest risks that are inherent in start-up and early stage businesses.
In this respect, Innvotec has evolved and is no longer the typical venture capital fund manager, preferring to harness its reporting and fund management expertise as an FSA regulated venture capital fund manager with the skills of others in the identification of valuable, proprietary technology and the building of successful businesses around it.
